Yuki Bhambri Reaches First ATP Masters 1000 Semifinal with Partner Andre Goransson
Historic Semifinal Achievement for Yuki Bhambri
Yuki Bhambri of India has made history by advancing to his first ATP Masters 1000 semifinal, partnering with Sweden's Andre Goransson. The duo triumphed over Alexander Erler and Andrea Vavassori in straight sets during their match at Indian Wells.
At 33 years old, Bhambri has previously reached the quarter-finals in doubles at the Masters 1000 level on two occasions, including last year's event at Indian Wells.
In the quarterfinals, Bhambri and Goransson secured a victory against the Austrian-Italian team with a score of 6-3, 7-6, in a match that lasted over 90 minutes.
The Indo-Swedish pair excelled on their first serves, winning an impressive 83% of the points (29 out of 35), which was pivotal in clinching the second-set tiebreaker and sealing their victory.
Next, they are set to face the French team of Arthur Rinderknech and Monaco's Valentin Vacherot in the semifinals scheduled for Friday.
Rinderknech and Vacherot secured their spot in the semifinals by defeating the Russian duo of Andrey Rublev and Karen Khachanov with a score of 6-3, 6-4 in their quarterfinal match.
