India U19 Triumphs in Rain-affected ODI Against Australia U19

In Rajkot, Gujarat, on September 18, Yashbardhan Chauhan emerged as the standout player for India Under-19s during their rain-affected opening match of the three-match Youth ODI series against Australia Under-19s. He not only scored a half-century but also took two wickets, leading his team to victory.

India batted first in the 20-over match, setting a target of 183 runs by scoring 182/6. In response, Australia managed to score 175/7, giving India a 1-0 lead in the series. Chauhan's performance was pivotal in this win.

The match also highlighted the talents of Aryavir Sehwag, son of former Indian opener Virender Sehwag, and Anvay Dravid, son of former captain Rahul Dravid. Aryavir opened the innings, contributing 28 runs off 26 balls, while Anvay, batting at No. 6, made a significant impact with a quick 38 runs off just 18 balls, including two fours and three sixes.

Chauhan was the top scorer for India, hitting a brisk 54 runs off 34 balls. His partnership with Anvay, which yielded 69 runs off 34 balls, was crucial in setting a competitive total.
