West Indies Triumph in Thrilling ODI Finale

In a stunning display of batting, the West Indies successfully chased down a target of 352 runs against India in the final ODI match held at the PCA International Cricket Stadium on Saturday. Captain Shai Hope was the star of the show, scoring an impressive 162 runs off 143 deliveries, which included 17 boundaries and three sixes.

This remarkable chase marks the highest successful run chase for the West Indies in One Day Internationals. Hope's innings was pivotal, as he formed a crucial 62-run partnership for the fifth wicket with Gudakesh Motie, helping the team secure victory with five wickets remaining.

Amir Jangoo also played a significant role, contributing a solid 67 runs off 56 balls, which helped stabilize the innings after the early loss of John Campbell. Following Jangoo's dismissal, Sherfane Rutherford and Keemo Paul added valuable runs, with Paul scoring 44 off 35 balls before being dismissed.

The Indian bowlers struggled to maintain pressure, with Shai Hope consistently attacking, ensuring the West Indies remained in contention throughout the chase. Motie also played a key role, particularly in the 48th over, where he scored quickly to push the West Indies closer to their target.

Ultimately, the West Indies completed their chase with 10 balls to spare, as India's bowlers failed to contain the aggressive batting display from the visitors. Mohammed Siraj, Gurnoor Brar, Kuldeep Yadav, and Naman Dhir each took a wicket, but it wasn't enough to stop the West Indies from claiming a comfortable five-wicket win.

Earlier in the match, India had a rocky start but managed to recover, finishing with a total of 351 runs for the loss of seven wickets. KL Rahul was the standout performer for India, scoring a brilliant 129 runs, which included 10 fours and two sixes, helping the team surpass the 350-run mark.

Rahul's century came off just 80 balls, making it the second-fastest of his nine ODI centuries, following his record 62-ball century against the Netherlands earlier this year. Despite early wickets, Rohit Sharma and Ruturaj Gaikwad steadied the innings, with Sharma scoring 92 runs and becoming the fourth opener in ODI history to reach 10,000 runs.

Gaikwad contributed a valuable 57 runs, while Naman Dhir added a quick 30 runs. For the West Indies, Jayden Seales was the standout bowler, taking three wickets, while Keemo Paul and Gudakesh Motie also made contributions with the ball.
