A Playful Exchange Between Cricket Legends

During an IPL match featuring the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad, cricket icons Virender Sehwag and R Ashwin engaged in a humorous exchange. Ashwin was making his debut in Hindi commentary for the official broadcaster when Sehwag encouraged him to express his thoughts freely, without overthinking. In response, Ashwin mentioned that his upbringing emphasized the importance of careful speech. “Aaj yaha par dil ki baat kiya jayega, na ki soch samajh kar baat kiya jayega,” Sehwag remarked, indicating that the discussion should come from the heart rather than logic. Ashwin countered, stating, “Mere parents ne abhi tak jo sikhaya tha, aap uska ulta bata rahe hai. Mere parents ne bataya hai soch samajh kar bolna chahiye, bina soche kuchh nahi bolna chahiye.”

Sehwag humorously pointed out that some individuals are cautious with their words due to the fear of losing followers on social media. He quipped, “Hota hai kuch log soch samajh kar bolte hai ki is player ke jyada fan hai… agar galat bol diya to followers ghat jayenge, achchha bol diya to badh jayenge.”
