Indian Team Set for Racketlon World Championships

New Delhi, August 5: Vikramaditya Chaufla has been appointed as the captain of the Indian Racketlon team for the third consecutive year, as they prepare for the World Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The Indian squad, announced by the Racketlon India Sports Association (RISA), includes Chaufla, Prashant Sen, Monesh Mashruwala, Akshay Gandhi, Raghav Jatia, and Nidhi Tiwari.

Competing in the Challenge Cup, India enters the tournament as the defending champions, having secured the title last year, as stated in a press release.

Racketlon is a distinctive sport that merges table tennis, badminton, squash, and tennis, with the overall score from these four games determining the winner.

Chaufla expressed his pride in captaining the team for another World Championship, stating, “It is an honour to captain India for a third consecutive World Championship. Representing the country is always a matter of immense pride, and we are looking forward to defending our title.”

K K Cheema, President of RISA, congratulated the selected athletes and extended his best wishes for their success at the World Championships.

Krishna Kotak, who introduced Racketlon to India, noted that the Indian team's consistent international performances highlight the sport's growth in the country and wished the squad the best of luck.

India has been enhancing its presence in international Racketlon, and the upcoming World Championships will serve as another platform for the defending champions to demonstrate their progress and achievements on the world stage.
