In a remarkable display of talent, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scored an impressive 93 runs off just 38 balls, leading the Rajasthan Royals (RR) to a seven-wicket victory over the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on May 19. This victory keeps the Royals firmly in contention for the playoffs. Sooryavanshi's innings marked his sixth score of over 50 in the IPL and his fourth this season, which includes one century and three half-centuries. He has now surpassed the 500-run milestone in the 2026 IPL, currently holding the orange cap with a total of 569 runs.

During his innings, Sooryavanshi hit 10 sixes and seven boundaries, marking the third occasion in his career where he has achieved 10 or more sixes in an IPL match. Previously, he hit 11 sixes against GT in the 2025 IPL and 12 against SRH earlier this season. He is now the second player, after Chris Gayle, to have three innings with double-digit sixes.

All of Sooryavanshi's innings with 10 or more sixes have occurred in Jaipur, making him the first player to achieve this feat at a single venue. He is also the first player in IPL history to have two such innings while chasing a target.

At just 15 years old, Sooryavanshi has become the youngest player in IPL history to score over 500 runs in a single season. The previous record was held by Rishabh Pant, who achieved this at the age of 20 in 2018. Sooryavanshi has also set a world record for the youngest player to score over 500 runs in any T20 tournament, surpassing Devdutt Padikkal's record. Additionally, he holds the record for the highest strike rate among players with over 500 runs in any T20 tournament.

For his outstanding performance, Sooryavanshi was named Player of the Match for the second time this season, with only Sanju Samson having received the award more frequently.
