In a thrilling display of skill, 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made history during the IPL Qualifier 2 match between Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans. Scoring 96 runs off 47 balls, he shattered multiple records, including becoming the fastest player to reach 1000 runs in the IPL. In a remarkable display of talent, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made headlines once again during the second qualifier of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) held at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh on May 29. The 15-year-old cricketer showcased his resilience on a challenging pitch against a formidable bowling lineup. Despite losing teammates, Sooryavanshi scored an impressive 96 runs off just 47 balls, featuring eight fours and seven sixes, achieving a strike rate of 204.26.

90 - This marks the third time in his last four innings that Sooryavanshi has been dismissed in the 90s, making him the second player after Glenn Maxwell in 2014 to achieve this feat in a single season. He holds the record for the most dismissals between 90 and 99 in IPL history. Alongside Maxwell, other notable players like Chris Gayle, David Warner, KL Rahul, and Ruturaj Gaikwad have also faced this fate thrice in their careers.


2 - Sooryavanshi is now the second player in IPL playoff history to record two innings of over 90 runs, following Murli Vijay. He is the first to accomplish this in a single season and is unique in having been dismissed in the 90s during playoff matches on two occasions.


700 - He reached 700 runs in the 2026 IPL, becoming the first teenager and uncapped player to achieve this milestone. No player had previously scored 700 runs in a single T20 tournament before turning 19. The youngest player to reach this mark before him was Sai Sudharsan, who was 23 during IPL 2025.


237.30 - Sooryavanshi's strike rate is the highest in IPL history for a player with over 700 runs in a single season. He is the first to surpass 700 runs with a strike rate exceeding 200, breaking the previous record held by Suryakumar Yadav.

500 - Sooryavanshi also set a record by scoring 500 runs during the powerplay of the IPL season, the first player to do so in any T20 tournament. He surpassed David Warner's previous record of 467 runs in the 2016 season.



1000 - Sooryavanshi reached 1000 runs in the IPL, becoming the fastest player to do so in terms of balls faced, achieving this milestone in under 500 balls. The previous record was held by Andre Russell, who took 115 balls more.
