Sooryavanshi's Record-Breaking Performance

In a stunning display of talent, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi shattered a 21-year-old record by scoring the fastest List A fifty in just 11 balls during the tri-series final against Sri Lanka A on Sunday.

The 15-year-old prodigy, who scored 94 runs off 29 deliveries, showcased his skills at the crucial match, surpassing the previous record held by Sri Lankan player Kaushalya Weeraratne, who achieved the feat in 12 balls back in 2005.

Sooryavanshi was on the verge of matching the record for the joint fastest List A century but was dismissed at mid-off in the ninth over, with the team's score at 132. His explosive innings featured 10 fours and eight sixes.

He reached his fifty with an impressive display of power hitting, including five sixes and five fours, as he dominated the Sri Lanka A bowling attack.

After a quiet performance in the league stage, Sooryavanshi came out aggressively, hitting two sixes and three fours in his first five balls.

He initially targeted the leg-side against the pacers before adjusting to hit through the extra cover region when the opposition placed an additional fielder on the on-side.

His ability to clear the boundary with ease was evident, as he reached his half-century with two sixes off pacer Dulaj Samuditha.

The highlight of his innings was his effortless sixes over extra cover, totaling three in number.

Sooryavanshi was close to equaling Jake Fraser McGurk's record for the fastest century in 29 balls but fell just short.

This innings further highlighted Sooryavanshi's exceptional talent, as he earned a call-up for the India T20 team for the upcoming tours of Ireland and England following impressive performances in the IPL playoffs.

Earlier in the series, Sooryavanshi faced sledging from a Sri Lanka A player, which escalated into a heated confrontation between players from both teams during a tense league match.
