The third edition of the Uttarakhand Premier League (UPL) is scheduled to take place from September 21 to October 1, 2026, at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Dehradun. This event will showcase the top male and female cricketers from the state, as announced in a recent press release.

Under the auspices of the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU), UPL 2026 will feature competitions for both genders, reinforcing the League's dedication to providing opportunities for cricketers throughout the region.

In the men's tournament, teams such as Dehradun Warriors, USN Indians, Haridwar Elmas, Tehri Titans, Rishikesh River Kings, Pithoragarh Hurricanes, and Nainital Tigers will compete.

The women's tournament will include teams like Mussoorie Queens, Bageshwar Aerial, Pithoragarh Hurricanes, and Dehradun Warriors, featuring four prominent players: Prema Rawat, Raghvi Bist, Nandini Kashyap, and Sweta Verma.

Prior to the start of UPL 2026, Smt. Kiran Verma, Secretary of CAU, remarked, “The Uttarakhand Premier League has become a vital platform for highlighting our players' talents. The achievements of the first two editions motivate us to enhance UPL 2026 and offer our cricketers more chances to advance.”

Shri Mahim Verma, former Vice-President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and former Secretary of CAU, stated, “Uttarakhand is rich in cricketing talent, and UPL gives players the visibility they need. With the tournament occurring before the IPL auction, it presents an excellent opportunity for players to shine.”

Shri Sunil Joshi, Chairperson of UPL, added, “The UPL aims to create opportunities for cricketers in Uttarakhand. The previous editions have showcased the state's talent, and UPL 2026 will offer another competitive platform for players to excel and gain recognition.”

As the premier state-level T20 competition, the Uttarakhand Premier League allows talented cricketers to compete alongside seasoned players in a well-organized setting. Strategically scheduled before the IPL auction, it serves as a crucial platform for players to demonstrate their T20 abilities and attract attention.

The first two editions of the UPL garnered significant interest, establishing the tournament as a key sporting event in the state. The inaugural season reached over 21 million viewers across various platforms, while the second edition expanded its competitive field and continued to provide opportunities for players statewide.

Incorporating both men's and women's competitions is central to the League's mission of fostering cricket development across Uttarakhand. The inclusion of icon players in both tournaments will elevate the competitive standard and allow younger cricketers to learn from experienced athletes during matches.

Beyond the cricket matches, the Uttarakhand Premier League aims to enhance the sporting ecosystem in the state by creating opportunities for players, coaches, support staff, match officials, ground personnel, and administrators involved in organizing a major T20 event.

The UPL 2026 will commence on September 21 and conclude on October 1, taking place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Raipur, Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Building on the success and experience of the previous editions, UPL 2026 is set to deliver competitive cricket and provide another significant opportunity for Uttarakhand's talented cricketers to shine on a prominent stage.
