Santa Clara [US], July 2: A remarkable display by Flo Balogun, along with an 82nd-minute goal from Malik Tillman, propelled the USA to a 2-0 victory against Bosnia and Herzegovina, ensuring their place in the quarterfinals of the FIFA World Cup.
Balogun showcased his talent throughout the match, making significant contributions in the opponent's box and netting his third goal of the tournament before receiving a red card for a reckless tackle. This victory sets up a challenging encounter against Belgium in the next round.
Bosnia started strong with a corner but failed to capitalize. The USA quickly responded with early opportunities created by Christian Pulisic and Balogun.
In the 8th minute, Bosnia's attempt was deflected away, and a goal from Balogun in the 31st minute was ruled offside.
As the first half neared its end, Balogun finally found the net in the 45th minute, receiving a pass from Sergino Dest that deflected off Muharemovic, and he skillfully slotted it past goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj.
