UP Warriorz Secures U19 Star G Trisha in WPL 2026 Auction

The WPL 2026 auction saw UP Warriorz making a significant move by acquiring U19 sensation G Trisha for Rs 10 lakh. Trisha, a key player in the 2025 U19 Women's T20 World Cup-winning team, made history as the first centurion in the tournament. WPL 2026 Auction Highlights

In a thrilling turn of events at the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 auction held on Thursday in New Delhi, UP Warriorz made headlines by acquiring U19 prodigy G Trisha for Rs 10 lakh. Trisha, who played a pivotal role in the 2025 U19 Women’s T20 World Cup-winning squad, etched her name in history as the first player to score a century in the tournament.


With an impressive tally of 309 runs across seven innings, Trisha boasted an average exceeding 77, earning her the Player of the Match title in the final against South Africa with a stellar unbeaten score of 44.


Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians secured Saika Ishaque for Rs 30 lakh. The seasoned player has participated in 22 WPL matches, claiming 25 wickets at an average of 20.68. Royal Challengers Bengaluru also made a strategic move by acquiring Prayoosha Kumar for Rs 10 lakh.


Gujarat Giants added Danni Wyatt Hodge to their roster for Rs 10 lakh. The English cricketer has amassed 3,335 runs in 178 T20 internationals, including two centuries and 21 fifties. Last season, she played six matches for Bengaluru, scoring 137 runs.


UP Warriorz further strengthened their lineup by signing Indian opener Pratika Rawal for Rs 50 lakh. Pratika has an impressive record of 1,110 runs in 24 ODIs, averaging 50.45, with two centuries and seven fifties. She contributed significantly to India’s World Cup-winning campaign this year, scoring 308 runs in six innings at an average of 51.33.


Gujarat Giants also acquired Indian spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad for Rs 40 lakh. The left-arm bowler has taken 61 wickets in 58 T20Is, maintaining an average of 19.13.


Delhi Capitals made a notable purchase by signing Minnu Mani for Rs 40 lakh. The Indian player has five wickets in four T20Is and has taken nine wickets for the Capitals over 17 WPL matches in the last three seasons.


Royal Challengers Bengaluru added Dayalan Hemlatha to their squad for Rs 30 lakh. Dayalan has scored 276 runs in 23 T20Is, averaging over 16. She has played 22 matches for Gujarat Giants in the WPL, accumulating 293 runs at an average of 18.31, including two fifties. Additionally, Ayushi Soni was signed by Gujarat Giants for Rs 30 lakh.


RCB made a significant investment by acquiring Georgia Voll for Rs 60 lakh. Having played three matches for UPW last season, Georgia has scored 210 runs in six T20Is for Australia, averaging 35.00 with a strike rate of 144.82, including two fifties. UPW also signed Australian cricket legend Meg Lanning for a staggering Rs 1.9 crore.


South African captain Laurva Wolvaardt, who showcased exceptional performance during the Women’s ODI World Cup 2025, was sold to Capitals for Rs 1.1 crore. Indian leg-spinner Asha Sobhana also fetched Rs 1.1 crore from UPW. Notably, Australian spinner Alana King, who achieved a remarkable seven-wicket haul in the Women’s World Cup, went unsold.
