Glasgow [Scotland], July 24: Mansukh Mandaviya, the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, has rallied the Indian team in preparation for the 2026 Commonwealth Games, encouraging them to compete with enthusiasm and determination.

During his visit to Glasgow for the Commonwealth Games, which run from July 23 to August 2, Mandaviya interacted with Indian athletes, officials, and members of the Indian community, emphasizing the government's commitment to fostering sporting excellence and promoting a healthier India.

In his address to the athletes, Mandaviya urged them to approach their competitions with confidence and a positive attitude, reminding them not to succumb to pressure. He emphasized that true success is not solely measured by medals but also by the spirit and determination shown while representing India.

“When you step onto the field, do so without panic or haste. You carry the blessings of Goddess Durga and Mahakali, along with the support of 1.4 billion people. Compete with passion and spirit,” he stated.

He further expressed, “With high morale and support, my athletes will never face defeat. You may win medals or learn valuable lessons, but we will not be defeated. While we aim to bring home medals, embodying the true spirit of India is what will ultimately lead to success.”

Mandaviya also highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ongoing encouragement and support for athletes, ensuring they receive the necessary guidance and security while representing the nation. He expressed optimism that the Indian team would excel and bring honor to the country during the Commonwealth Games.

“All necessary arrangements are in place for you. Whether you leave as champions or come to compete, the Prime Minister is there to support you and ensure your safety. I am confident that we will shine at the Commonwealth Games and bring pride to ourselves and our nation,” he added.
