Aseem Koraliyadan's Untimely Demise

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) - Aseem Koraliyadan, a former player in the Santosh Trophy and aged 40, tragically lost his life in a road accident early this morning in Coimbatore.

Originally from Puthalam in Areekode, Malappuram district, Aseem was employed as a Customs officer at Coimbatore International Airport. He was en route to work when the unfortunate incident occurred.

Aseem was well-known in the domestic football scene, having represented the Kerala Under-21 team and played for Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu during the Santosh Trophy tournament.

His career included stints with several prominent clubs such as Vasco Goa, Salgaocar Goa, Mumbai FC, Mahindra United, and East Bengal. Aseem showcased his talent in the I-League for nine seasons, earning recognition for his speed and offensive playing style.

In the wake of his passing, condolences have poured in from fellow sports figures and local community members.

Sporting Club Kerala (SCK) shared their sorrow on Instagram, offering heartfelt condolences to Koraliyadan's family and friends. They stated, “Sporting Club Kerala joins the football fraternity in mourning the loss of prominent Indian National Footballer and Customs Inspector Aseem Koraliyadan. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this time. Rest in peace,” in their post.

After the post-mortem, Aseem's body will be returned to his home in Areekode, where final rites will be held following public tributes.

Aseem was the twin brother of the esteemed footballer and coach, Anees Korlayadan.
