Suryansh Shedge Joins Team India as Replacement for Nitish Reddy
Suryansh Shedge Replaces Nitish Reddy in Indian Squad
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that Suryansh Shedge will take the place of Nitish Kumar Reddy in the Indian cricket team for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England. This decision comes after Reddy experienced discomfort in his left quadriceps following the third ODI against Afghanistan on June 20. A medical evaluation led by the BCCI Medical Team has advised Reddy to undergo rehabilitation, thus excluding him from both T20I series.
Shedge's selection is a result of his outstanding performances for India A during the recent tri-series held in Sri Lanka, where he accumulated 147 runs over five matches while also contributing with the ball by bowling 23 overs. Additionally, he was a key player for Mumbai in their triumphant Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy campaign for the 2024-25 season, scoring 131 runs at an impressive strike rate of 251.92 from the lower middle order.
