Suryakumar Yadav, captain of the Indian cricket team, has set his sights on winning Olympic gold at the 2028 Los Angeles Games, alongside the upcoming T20 World Cup. Following a dominant performance in the T20 World Cup final against New Zealand, where India posted a remarkable score of 255-5, the team made history by becoming the first to win back-to-back T20 World Cups. With key players like Sanju Samson and Jasprit Bumrah shining, India's cricketing prowess continues to grow as they aim for further glory on the international stage.

Captain of the Indian cricket team, Suryakumar Yadav, has declared that securing an Olympic gold medal is the next significant objective for the team. Cricket will be included in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics, and India is expected to be a strong contender for the top prize. Yadav also addressed rumors regarding his retirement, clarifying that he intends to continue playing at least until the next T20 World Cup in 2028. He stated, "Winning the Olympic gold is the next target and the T20 World Cup in the same year," during a post-match press conference.

India's coach, Gautam Gambhir, who accompanied Yadav at the press conference, dedicated their recent T20 World Cup victory to former coach Rahul Dravid and BCCI's Center of Excellence chairman, VVS Laxman. "I dedicate this trophy to Rahul bhai and VVS Laxman," Gambhir remarked.

Jasprit Bumrah was the standout bowler, claiming four wickets for just 15 runs, effectively dismantling the Kiwi batting lineup.
