In a remarkable achievement, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) matched the Indian Cricket Team's world record by surpassing Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in a prestigious category. This milestone was reached during their IPL 2026 match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad on May 6. After winning the toss, Shreyas opted to bowl first, allowing SRH to take the initiative with a powerful batting display. The 2016 champions amassed an impressive total of 235 runs, featuring notable contributions from Heinrich Klaasen (69 runs off 43 balls) and Ishan Kishan (55 runs off 32 balls). Abhishek Sharma (35 runs off 13 balls) and Travis Head (38 runs off 19 balls) provided a brisk start, while Nitish Kumar Reddy (29 runs off 13 balls) ensured a strong finish.

Historic Achievement for SRH

This marks the eighth occasion that SRH has scored over 200 runs against PBKS. Among IPL franchises, only the Mumbai Indians have achieved this feat against Delhi Capitals. In the realm of T20 cricket globally, no other team has accomplished this more frequently. India is the only national team to have done it twice against New Zealand and South Africa.
