Milestone Achievement in T20 Cricket

Sharjah [UAE], December 4: Renowned West Indies spinner Sunil Narine has etched his name in T20 cricket history by becoming the third bowler to achieve the remarkable feat of 600 wickets.


Narine reached this significant milestone while playing for the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders (ADKR) in their International League T20 (ILT20) match against Sharjah Warriorz on Wednesday.


In this match, Narine delivered an impressive bowling performance, finishing with figures of 1/22 across four overs, claiming the wicket of Tom Abell.


Strong contributions from Liam Livingstone, who scored an unbeaten 82 off 38 balls with two fours and eight sixes, and Sherfane Rutherford, who added 45 runs from 27 balls with three fours and three sixes, propelled ADKR to a total of 233/4 in their allotted 20 overs.


For Sharjah Warriorz, Adil Rashid stood out with the ball, taking 2 wickets for 31 runs.


In response, Tim David scored 60 runs off just 24 balls, hitting two fours and seven sixes, while Dwaine Pretorius contributed 39 runs from 20 balls, including four boundaries and two sixes. However, the Warriorz struggled with regular wickets and ended their innings at 194/9, falling short by 39 runs.


Olly Stone and Andre Russell were the leading bowlers for ADKR, each taking two wickets, with Stone finishing with figures of 2/37 and Russell 2/48.


With this achievement, Narine has now taken 600 wickets in 568 T20 matches, boasting an impressive average of 22.09 and an economy rate of 6.16, along with best bowling figures of 5/19, which includes 12 four-wicket hauls and one five-wicket haul. He now trails only Dwayne Bravo, who has 631 wickets in 582 matches, and Rashid Khan, who leads with 681 wickets in 499 matches.
