Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], May 28: Paralympic gold medalist Sumit Antil was the standout performer on the final day of the 8th Indian Open Para Athletics International Championship 2026, showcasing his skills in the Men's Javelin Throw F64 event held at Shree Kanteerava Stadium.

Representing Haryana, Sumit secured the gold medal with an impressive throw measuring 74.82m. Sandip Sargar from Maharashtra took home the silver with a throw of 62.88m, while Rajasthan's Sandeep earned the bronze with a distance of 61.83m, as reported in a press release.

Exciting Competitions in Javelin Throw Events

In another thrilling event, the Men's Javelin Throw F46 category saw Haryana's Rinku clinch gold with a throw of 61.70m. Ajeet Singh from Uttar Pradesh followed closely to win silver with 60.72m, while Ravi Kumar also from Uttar Pradesh secured bronze with a throw of 59.33m.

Haryana's Parveen Kumar excelled in the Men's Javelin Throw F57 event, achieving a top throw of 45.02m, ahead of Uttarakhand's Hem Chandra (42.60m) and Tamil Nadu's Balasubramanian Arulraj (40.62m).

Paralympic medallist Nishad Kumar demonstrated his talent in the Men's High Jump T47 event, winning gold for Himachal Pradesh with a height of 2.05m, while Haryana's Ram Pal took silver with a jump of 1.86m.
