On Monday, Suchika achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first Indian to win an MMA medal at the Asian Games, finishing third in the women's traditional 60 kg category after a semifinal loss to Singapore's Teo Hui Hoon.

In an interview, Suchika expressed her gratitude towards her parents, family, and husband Kapil Hooda for their relentless encouragement throughout her career. Her mother, Lajwanti Tariyal, shared the family's joy, noting that Suchika's achievement in her first Asian Games appearance is a dream realized for both her and the family. "We are overjoyed that she has become the first Indian woman to win a medal in MMA. This has been a long-held dream for us all," she said.
