Strong Contenders Set for Women's Pro Golf Tour in Bengaluru
Exciting Lineup for the Women's Pro Golf Tour
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], June 17: The eighth leg of the Women’s Pro Golf Tour at the Bengaluru Golf Club will proceed without last week’s champion, Anvitha Narender. Nevertheless, a robust field of 57 players, including 12 amateurs, is ready to compete. This event boasts a prize pool of Rs 17 lakh and will see notable participants such as Vani Kapoor, the 2025 Order of Merit winner, who narrowly missed out on victory in a playoff in Mysuru last week. Other seasoned players like Tvesa Malik, Ridhima Dilawari, Amandeep Drall, Neha Tripathi, Vidhatri Urs, and Seher Atwal are also expected to be strong contenders.
Vani Kapoor, who secured five wins in 2025, is anticipated to be a leading favorite, but she faces stiff competition from a wave of younger talent.
Emerging players like Mannat Brar, Heena Kang, and Jahanvi Bakshi are poised to challenge the established stars, alongside several new professionals entering the fray.
Among the promising amateurs, Zara Anand and Mahreen Bhatia will also compete this week, adding to the excitement.
Last week, Anvitha Narender triumphed over Vani Kapoor in a thrilling second playoff hole, while young amateur Ananyaa Sood showcased her skills early on, finishing strong alongside Riya Jadon, who claimed third place.
With many Indian women professionals participating in the Ladies European Tour and the LET Access Tour, the depth of talent in women’s golf has significantly increased.
This blend of youth and experience has resulted in a competitive field and impressive scores on the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour, which has been thriving for nearly two decades.
