Srikkanth Critiques Gambhir's Decision on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi
Srikkanth's Strong Words on Sooryavanshi's Treatment
Krishnamachari Srikkanth expressed his discontent regarding coach Gautam Gambhir's management of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. After making his long-anticipated debut in England, Vaibhav struggled in his initial three matches and was subsequently dropped from the team. However, he made a strong comeback in the first T20I against Zimbabwe, scoring an impressive fifty off just 19 balls. Srikkanth criticized the decision to drop him after only three games, suggesting that it severely impacted his confidence. He remarked, "He possesses an effortless array of shots, yet not a single one was cross-batted. This young talent is truly exceptional. How could Gautam Gambhir make such a foolish decision to drop him after just three failures?" on his YouTube channel, Cheeky Cheeka.
'Salute Vaibhav For His Dedication' - Srikkanth
Srikkanth also commended Vaibhav for his commitment, noting that instead of returning home after the disappointing series in England, he went directly to the Rajasthan Royals camp. "I commend Vaibhav for his dedication. He has been focusing on improving his batting against short balls, aiming to showcase his talent to the world," Srikkanth stated. He further emphasized, "The way he scores at a strike rate of 250 is remarkable. Typically, after facing three failures, players would play it safe, but he approached the game fearlessly. Scoring a fifty off 18 balls has become second nature for him. That’s his brilliance." Vaibhav's fifty against Zimbabwe made him the youngest player to achieve this milestone in international cricket. He will aim to maintain his impressive form in the upcoming second T20I against Zimbabwe on July 25.
