Shubman Gill's Remarkable Performance

On April 12, Shubman Gill made headlines during the Gujarat Titans' match against the Lucknow Super Giants at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. The 26-year-old played a crucial role in guiding his team to victory while chasing a target of 165 runs, scoring 56 runs off 40 balls. This performance marked his second half-century of the season, achieved within just 34 days. Prior to this, he had scored 70 runs in 45 balls against Delhi Capitals and started the tournament with a score of 39 against Punjab Kings, missing only one home game against Rajasthan Royals due to injury.


Shubman Gill Sets New Record

In a remarkable achievement, Gill surpassed a decade-old record held by Virat Kohli, becoming the youngest player to reach 4000 runs in IPL history at the age of 26. He is now the 14th player overall to achieve this milestone, joining an elite group that includes Kohli, Sanju Samson, and Suresh Raina, all of whom reached this landmark before turning 30. Notably, Kohli and Raina were the first to achieve this feat on consecutive days during the 2016 season.
