This match marked the season's first nail-biter, with the home team clinching a three-wicket win with just five balls remaining. After winning the toss, PBKS opted to bowl first, allowing GT to set a target of 162 runs, with Shubman emerging as the top scorer, contributing 39 runs off 27 balls.

In response, Cooper Connolly made a remarkable debut, scoring an unbeaten 72 runs off 44 balls, guiding the 2025 finalists to victory despite a tense moment. The match took a turn when Shreyas was dismissed, leading to a batting collapse for PBKS, who went from 110-2 to 118-6.
