Arcs Andheri Secures Final Spot with Victory Over Aakash Tigers
Mumbai (Maharashtra) - On June 11, Shivam Dube showcased his leadership skills with a remarkable unbeaten innings, propelling Arcs Andheri into the finals of the T20 Mumbai League 2026. They achieved a five-wicket win against Aakash Tigers Mumbai Western Suburbs during the first semi-final held at Wankhede Stadium.
Andheri's bowlers executed a disciplined performance, limiting the Tigers to a total of 150 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Despite facing some challenges during their chase, Dube's explosive batting ensured they reached the target with nine balls remaining.
In pursuit of 151 runs, Andheri faced an early blow when Musheer Khan was dismissed without scoring, leaving them at just one run. However, Divyaansh Sksena and Arjun Tendulkar stabilized the innings with a partnership of 41 runs for the second wicket. The Tigers regained momentum when Shams Mulani took two quick wickets, dismissing Tendulkar for 13 and Sksena, who scored a brisk 34 off 16 balls, which included six fours and a six.
Prasad Pawar (26) and Pragnesh Kanpillewar (18) tried to rebuild the innings with a crucial 40-run partnership for the fourth wicket. Just as Andheri seemed to be gaining control, Ajit Yadav struck twice in the 13th over, sending both batters back to the pavilion and leaving Andheri at 92/5.
With the match hanging in the balance, Dube stepped up, forming an unbroken 59-run partnership with Gaurav Jathar (11 not out). Dube finished with an impressive 45 runs off 26 balls, hitting five sixes and a four to secure Andheri's place in the final.
Earlier, the Tigers opted to bat first, with skipper Sarfaraz Khan providing a strong start, scoring 34 runs off 17 balls, including six fours and a six. Opener Jay Bista contributed 35 runs off 33 balls, while Harsh Rane (13) and Ajit Yadav (12) added valuable runs.
However, the Tigers struggled to form significant partnerships in the middle overs, with Saksham Parashar falling for a duck and the remaining batsmen unable to accelerate the scoring.
Ashutosh Ghagre was the standout bowler for Andheri, taking 2 wickets for 21 runs, while Tendulkar, Dube, Ajay Mishra, Musheer, and Prasun Singh each claimed one wicket.
In the second semi-final, North Mumbai Panthers are set to face MSC Maratha Royals later tonight, with the winner advancing to the title match on Saturday.
