In a recent statement, former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan expressed admiration for the young talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, highlighting his fearless batting style and impressive performance at such a young age.

Dhawan noted that it is a significant achievement for a 15-year-old to compete at the international level, especially in the IPL. He commended Sooryavanshi's ability to confidently hit boundaries, emphasizing that while technical skill is crucial, the courage to execute such shots at a young age is truly exceptional. Dhawan is optimistic about Sooryavanshi's current success and his promising future.

"His batting is exceptional. Achieving international recognition at just 15 or 16 is remarkable. His performance in the IPL, particularly his ability to hit fours and sixes, is impressive. Skill is one aspect, but having the heart to play at this level at such a young age is extraordinary. I believe he has a bright present and an even brighter future ahead," Dhawan remarked.

Recently, Sooryavanshi made headlines by scoring 151 runs in three T20I matches against Zimbabwe, earning him the Player of the Series title as India secured a clean sweep. Earlier, he became the youngest Indian to debut internationally during the T20I series against England.

His debut followed a stellar IPL 2026 season with the Rajasthan Royals, where he scored 776 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 237.30, including a century and five half-centuries. He led the tournament in runs and set a record with 72 sixes, earning multiple accolades such as the Orange Cap and Most Valuable Player.

Sooryavanshi also shone in the ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup earlier this year, scoring 439 runs and being named Player of the Tournament, further showcasing his immense talent.

On a different note, Shikhar Dhawan, who is also the Chairman of Da One Group and the founder of the Shikhar Dhawan Foundation, inaugurated a cutting-edge STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Lab at Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in Pitampura alongside Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Ravi Kunwar, CEO of HMD India and APAC.

This STEM Lab represents a significant step forward in enhancing technology-driven education in Delhi Government schools, aiming to benefit over 2,500 students through engaging, application-based STEM learning, as stated in a press release.

During the inauguration, Dhawan emphasized the initiative's focus on providing practical learning experiences in STEM fields, which will help children develop skills in technology and engineering. He mentioned that his foundation has already positively impacted 50,000 children through various digital education initiatives.

"Our foundation has made considerable strides in digital education, benefiting 50,000 children. It brings us immense joy to serve as a medium for this... We are launching STEM labs that will offer practical benefits to children, equipping them with the skills needed to excel in technology and engineering. As the initiative expands, we will continue to introduce new elements," he stated.
