Shafali Verma's Remarkable Rise in T20I Rankings

Dynamic Indian opener Shafali Verma has surged two spots to secure the fourth position in the ICC Women’s T20I Batting Rankings, following her first-ever century in this format during the women's cricket event at the ongoing Asian Games.

Her impressive unbeaten score of 100 against Bangladesh in the semifinal, held in Nisshin, Japan, came on the heels of a solid performance where she scored an unbeaten 40 in India's quarterfinal win over Japan.

According to the latest rankings update, which reflects performances up to Monday, Indian players dominate the top two spots in the bowling category, with Shree Charani leading the pack with 799 rating points, while Deepti Sharma trails closely with 729 points.

Additionally, there have been notable advancements for their teammates; Kranti Gaud has ascended 15 places to rank 57th, and Nandani Sharma has jumped 22 spots to 72nd.

Both players have achieved their highest career rating points, standing at 461 and 432 respectively, thanks to their performances at the Asian Games.

On the batting front, Smriti Mandhana has slipped one position to sixth, while captain Harmanpreet Kaur maintains her position at tenth.
