New Delhi, July 20: Badminton icon Saina Nehwal expressed her admiration for P V Sindhu following her impressive victory at the Japan Open Super 750 tournament. Nehwal emphasized that true champions should never be underestimated.

Nehwal pointed out Sindhu's determination in overcoming a challenging phase filled with injuries, asserting that this recent win will significantly boost her confidence.

She praised Sindhu's dynamic playing style and her notable victories against several top-ranked opponents, describing her return to form as a reflection of her champion spirit.

Sindhu showcased her exceptional skills by clinching her first Japan Open title, triumphing over local favorite and world No. 3 Akane Yamaguchi with scores of 21-17, 21-17 in the women's singles final of the BWF Super 750 event held on Sunday.
