RCB Triumphs in WPL 2026 Final
Vadodara (Gujarat) [India], February 5: In an exhilarating final of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) emerged victorious against Delhi Capitals, securing the championship for the second time with a six-wicket win on Thursday. This defeat marks the fourth consecutive time the Capitals have finished without a trophy.
RCB previously claimed their inaugural title in the 2024 season.
Skipper Smriti Mandhana delivered a stellar performance, scoring 87 runs, and partnered with Georgia Voll, who contributed 79 runs off 54 balls, to chase down a challenging target of 204 runs. Mandhana's score is now the highest recorded in a WPL final at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi.
In a historic chase, Mandhana's team achieved the highest total ever pursued in WPL history, surpassing their own record of 202 runs set against the Gujarat Giants last year.
This was the fourth consecutive final appearance for the Capitals, who again finished as runners-up.
Grace Harris opened the batting alongside Mandhana but was dismissed by Chinelle Henry on the first ball of the second over after hitting two boundaries in the first over.
Richa Ghosh came in next, scoring a quick six before being dismissed by Nandani Sharma.
Mandhana was out in the 19th over as RCB approached their target, with Radha Yadav stepping in to bat.
With just 10 runs needed in the final over, Shree Charani bowled for the Capitals. Yadav struck two boundaries on the third and fourth deliveries, leading RCB to a memorable victory and handing the Capitals their fourth straight final loss.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals showcased a formidable batting display, scoring 203/4 in their 20 overs against RCB in this high-stakes final.

Rodrigues was the top scorer with 57 runs, supported by Laura Wolvaardt with 44 and Chinelle Henry, who remained unbeaten on 35.
The Capitals started cautiously, reaching just 9 runs without loss in three overs. However, Lizelle Lee and Shafali Verma accelerated the innings, bringing the score to 36/0 after five overs.
Arundhati Reddy provided the breakthrough by dismissing Verma for 20 runs off 13 balls, breaking the 53-run opening partnership.
Nadine de Klerk then took out wicketkeeper-batter Lee for 37 runs off 30 balls, leaving the Capitals at 74/2.
