After opting to field first, the Dockers faced a formidable challenge as the Guardians set a target of 178 runs for four wickets in their allotted 20 overs. James Vince was the standout performer for Dublin, remaining not out on 95 runs off 54 deliveries, which included five fours and six sixes. Sanjay Krishnamurthi and Vijay Shankar both contributed 26 runs, with Shankar's innings coming off just 13 balls, featuring two sixes.

Vince's innings was pivotal, especially after Noah Croes was dismissed for eight runs. He formed a crucial 56-run partnership with Harry Tector, who scored 14 runs before being dismissed at a total of 78.
