Rohit Sharma Misses Another Match as Mumbai Indians Face Gujarat Titans
Mumbai Indians Adjust Line-Up Against Gujarat Titans
In a significant development for the Mumbai Indians (MI), star opener Rohit Sharma will not be participating in their match against the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, marking the second consecutive game he has missed. The five-time IPL champions are looking to break a four-match losing streak and have made two alterations to their playing XI. Danish Malewar and Krish Bhagat are set to make their IPL debuts, with Malewar stepping in for Ryan Rickleton and Bhagat replacing Shardul Thakur. Additionally, Mitchell Santner returns to the squad, taking the place of Deepak Chahar.
Rohit Sharma's Injury Update
Rohit Sharma's absence is due to a hamstring injury sustained during MI's recent loss to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru on April 12 at Wankhede Stadium. He had to retire hurt after scoring 19 runs off 13 balls. The former MI captain also missed the previous match against the Punjab Kings (PBKS), which MI lost. With both Rohit and Rickleton unavailable, Malewar is expected to open the batting alongside Quinton de Kock. The timeline for Rohit's return remains uncertain, although bowling coach Paras Mhambrey indicated he was fit prior to the match. Rohit was seen batting during a practice session leading up to the game.
