Rohit Sharma Celebrates Milestone 400th Match with Virat Kohli
A Special Milestone for Indian Cricket Legends
London [UK], July 20: Rohit Sharma, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, expressed his joy over reaching the significant milestone of 400 international matches alongside Virat Kohli. He described this achievement as a remarkable moment, especially considering their long-standing careers together.
Sharma emphasized the deep understanding they have developed on the field over the years, attributing their successful partnerships to their ongoing communication and idea exchange while batting.
This historic milestone was celebrated during the third and final ODI against England at the renowned Lord's Cricket Ground on Sunday.
"Having played our entire careers together [referring to Virat Kohli], it was wonderful to share the pitch with him. We've formed numerous partnerships, and batting together is always enjoyable. Our understanding of each other is profound, and we often engage in discussions about our strategies while at the crease," Sharma remarked in a video shared by the BCCI on X.
Both players have stepped back from T20Is and Test matches, with ODIs being their last remaining format in international cricket.
During this match, the 39-year-old Sharma forged a 113-run partnership with Kohli while scoring 138 runs off 110 balls, as the experienced duo aimed to guide their team towards a challenging target.
Despite their efforts, India fell short by 27 runs in the final ODI against England at Lord's.
