Rohit Sharma Joins Elite List of Indian Batsmen

In a remarkable achievement, Indian cricket star Rohit Sharma has crossed the 14,000-run mark in List A cricket, making him the fifth Indian player to reach this milestone. This feat was accomplished during the second ODI against Afghanistan.


Rohit showcased his batting prowess by scoring 48 runs off 39 balls, featuring six boundaries and two sixes, while maintaining an impressive strike rate exceeding 123.


Currently, Rohit Sharma has accumulated a total of 14,038 runs in List A cricket over 356 matches, which includes 37 centuries. This format encompasses one-day matches at both international and domestic levels.


Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for the most runs in List A cricket for India, with an astounding 21,999 runs from 551 matches, complemented by 60 centuries. He is followed by Virat Kohli with 16,447 runs, Sourav Ganguly at 15,622 runs, and Rahul Dravid with 15,271 runs.


In the match, Afghanistan won the toss and chose to field first. India, led by centuries from captain Shubman Gill (154 runs off 110 balls, including 22 fours and 2 sixes) and Ishan Kishan (125 runs off 79 balls, with 14 fours and 7 sixes), posted a total of 402 runs before being all out in 49.5 overs.


Afghanistan's Nangeyaliya Kharoti and Rashid Khan were the standout bowlers, taking 4/76 and 3/48 respectively. To level the series, Afghanistan must chase down a target of 403 runs.
