Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 18: The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) maintained their impressive form, achieving a convincing eight-wicket victory against the Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy during the 11th match of the ongoing Women’s Premier League (WPL).
Smriti Mandhana was the star of the match, scoring 96 runs off 61 balls, which included 13 boundaries and three sixes. She was well-supported by Georgia Voll, who contributed an unbeaten 54 runs from 42 balls, featuring five fours and two sixes.
In pursuit of 167 runs, RCB faced an early setback with the dismissal of opener Grace Harris for just 1 run, courtesy of DC's Marizanne Kapp.
However, a remarkable partnership of 142 runs off just 91 balls revitalized RCB's innings, ensuring their unbeaten streak continued in the WPL 2026. Although Mandhana was dismissed in the closing stages, Voll's steady performance guided RCB to victory with a boundary, finishing the match with 10 balls to spare.
For DC, only Marizanne Kapp (1-21 in four overs) and Nandini Sharma (1-34 in four overs) managed to take wickets during the match.
Earlier, the Delhi Capitals were restricted to 166 runs in their 20 overs. They faced a tough situation at 74/6 after losing key players including wicketkeeper-batter Lizelle Lee (4), Laura Wolvaardt (0), captain Jemimah Rodrigues (4), Marizanne Kapp (0), Niki Prasad (12), and Minnu Mani (5).
Shafali Verma was the standout performer for DC, scoring 62 runs off 41 balls, with five fours and four sixes. She received support from Sneh Rana (22) and Lucy Hamilton (36), helping the team reach a total of 166.
RCB's Lauren Bell was impressive with the ball, taking three wickets for 26 runs in four overs, while Sayali Satghare also claimed three wickets in her three overs.
This victory solidifies RCB's position at the top of the WPL points table, while DC finds themselves at the bottom with only two points from four matches.
