RCB Proposes AI-Enabled Surveillance for Enhanced Fan Safety at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium
RCB's Initiative for Advanced Crowd Management
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], January 16: The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has formally suggested to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) the installation of 300 to 350 AI-powered cameras at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, as per an official announcement.
This cutting-edge surveillance system aims to assist the KSCA and law enforcement in effectively managing crowd dynamics, ensuring orderly queuing, and monitoring unauthorized access through real-time tracking of entries and exits, thereby significantly improving fan safety.
The technology utilizes sophisticated analysis of video, audio, and text data to expedite investigations and support quicker, more precise decision-making. Its real-time AI video analytics feature allows for the early identification of incidents such as violence and unauthorized access, enabling prompt and effective responses from law enforcement.
RCB has pledged to cover the entire initial cost of this project, which is estimated to be around ₹4.5 crore.
In collaboration with Staqu, a tech firm recognized for enhancing public safety through automation and data intelligence, RCB aims to implement this initiative. Staqu's advanced facial recognition technology and intelligent monitoring systems for objects, crowds, perimeters, and vehicles have already aided various State Police forces in their routine surveillance and investigations.
The integration of this innovative technology is set to raise the standards of crowd management and ensure a safe, secure, and enjoyable matchday experience for all attendees.
