Rajasthan Royals Secure Playoff Spot with Thrilling Victory

Chasing a daunting target of 220, RR successfully completed the chase with an over to spare, largely due to an outstanding performance by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. This victory not only propelled them towards the playoffs but also marked a historic achievement, as they surpassed a record previously held by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).

RR showcased their power-hitting prowess throughout the match, particularly during the powerplay, where they hit a remarkable 60 sixes in the first six overs of the season. This achievement makes them the first team in IPL history to reach this milestone in a single edition, breaking the previous record of 59 sixes set by SRH in IPL 2024.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Leads RR to Victory Against LSG

After being asked to bat first, LSG started strong with openers Mitchell Marsh and Josh Inglis forming a solid partnership of 109 runs. Inglis contributed a brisk 60 runs before being dismissed. Marsh continued to build on the momentum, narrowly missing a century with a score of 96. LSG finished their innings at 220/5 after 20 overs.

In response, RR began their chase aggressively, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi putting up a formidable opening stand of 75 runs. Following Jaiswal's dismissal for 43, Sooryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel maintained the pressure with a 105-run partnership. Sooryavanshi emerged as the standout performer, scoring 93 runs off just 38 balls, while Jurel added a valuable 53 runs from 38 deliveries. RR clinched the match with a 7-wicket victory, finishing with 5 balls to spare. They now face a crucial match against Mumbai Indians (MI) on May 24, where a win will secure their place in the IPL 2026 playoffs.
