Rajasthan Royals Begin Preparations for IPL 2026

Jaipur (Rajasthan Royals) [India], March 13: The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have officially announced the start of their inaugural pre-season training camp in Jaipur, gearing up for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season, as stated in a recent release.

The training camp is set to commence on March 17, where the RR squad will gather in Pink City to engage in training, fitness routines, and net sessions at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

Led by RR's Head Coach and Director of Cricket, Kumar Sangakkara, the camp aims to enhance team cohesion, provide rigorous training, and include strength and conditioning sessions.

Previously, a select group of players, such as Ravi Bishnoi, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Sandeep Sharma, and the newly acquired Ravindra Jadeja, participated in a brief camp and fitness evaluation at the franchise's High Performance Centre located in Nagpur. The Jaipur camp will be the first occasion for the entire Royals squad, including new signings like Jadeja and Sam Curran, to unite before the season kicks off.

The franchise is expected to head to Guwahati on March 26, 2026, for their opening match against CSK on March 30, according to the schedule released by the IPL Governing Council.

In a noteworthy development, the Rajasthan Royals were part of one of the most significant trades in IPL history ahead of the 2026 season.

Sanju Samson, who has been a prominent figure for the Rajasthan Royals over the past decade, has been traded to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for a sum of Rs 18 crores, marking a new chapter in his career. In exchange, the Royals acquired English player Sam Curran and India's experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. While Jadeja's salary will decrease from Rs 18 crores (at CSK) to Rs 14 crores (at RR), Curran will maintain his current salary of Rs 2.4 crores.
