India Faces Setbacks on Rainy Day One

On Thursday, the first day of the fifth and final Test match against England was marred by rain, allowing only six overs to be bowled in the second session. During this time, India lost their captain, Shubman Gill, leaving the team at 85 for three at tea.


Following an early lunch due to rain, India resumed the second session with a score of 72 for two. However, Gill was run out for 21 after adding just six runs to his score. The rain returned, leading to another interruption before tea.


Sai Sudharsan and Karun Nair were at the crease with scores of 28 and 0, respectively, when play was halted again.


In the brief six overs that were played in the second session, India managed to score 13 runs but lost one wicket.
