RCB Sets a Competitive Total Against Gujarat Giants

Navi Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 16: Radha Yadav's impressive half-century propelled Royal Challengers Bengaluru to a total of 182 runs for 7 wickets in their 20 overs against the Gujarat Giants during the ninth match of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 at DY Patil Stadium on Friday.


Royal Challengers Bengaluru began their innings with a bang, as speedster Renuka Singh allowed 23 runs in the opening over, marking the highest runs conceded in a first over in WPL history.


However, the momentum shifted quickly when pacer Kashvee Gautam dismissed opener Grace Harris, who scored 17 runs off just eight balls, including four boundaries, falling LBW. By the end of three overs, Bengaluru was at 30 for 1.


Kashvee continued her impressive bowling, taking out Shivani Singh for four runs in the fourth over. Shortly after, RCB's captain Smriti Mandhana was dismissed by Renuka Singh, contributing only five runs to the score.


As wickets continued to tumble, Gautami Naik was dismissed by Sophie Devine for nine runs, leaving RCB struggling at 45 for 4 after six overs, a repeat of their earlier performance against Mumbai Indians in 2023.


Wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh and Radha Yadav then steadied the innings, bringing the score to 80 for 4 at the halfway mark.
