Sindhu and Sen Shine at Hylo Open

Saarbrucken [Germany], November 1: Continuing her impressive performance, two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu has reached her second consecutive final at the BWF World Tour, specifically at the Hylo Open Super 500. In the men's singles category, Lakshya Sen also secured a spot in the final after overcoming Toma Junior Popov, as reported in a press release.

Following her runner-up finish at the French Open last week, Sindhu triumphed over fellow Indian Anmol Kharb with scores of 21-13, 21-16 in the semi-finals on Saturday. This match, lasting 38 minutes, marked the first international clash between the two players, with Sindhu maintaining her flawless tournament run without losing a game.

In the final, Sindhu will compete against Denmark's Line Hojmark Kjaersfeldt.

Meanwhile, Lakshya Sen secured his place in the men's singles final with a solid performance, defeating France's sixth seed Toma Junior Popov 21-17, 21-13 in 41 minutes. This victory improved Sen's head-to-head record against Popov to 3-2.

This will be Lakshya's second final of the season, following his runner-up finish at the All England Open earlier this year. He is set to face either Indonesia's Jonatan Christie or Denmark's top seed Anders Antonsen.

The last occasion both Sindhu and Lakshya reached the finals of the same tournament was during the Syed Modi India International in 2024.

Notably, Sindhu has a 6-1 advantage over Denmark's Line Kjaersfeldt in their head-to-head encounters. Kjaersfeldt's sole victory against Sindhu occurred at last year's Sudirman Cup, while Sindhu emerged victorious at the Indonesia Masters earlier this year.

On the other hand, Lakshya Sen's head-to-head record against Christie stands at 3-4, and he trails Antonsen with a 3-5 record in their previous matchups.
