Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] - On August 6, Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President PT Usha expressed her admiration for RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's speech at the India International Movement to Unite Nations (IIMUN) event, calling it truly inspirational.

Usha noted that Bhagwat's engagement was remarkable and highlighted the insightful answers he provided during the discussion.

“His address was motivational and truly remarkable. He offered excellent responses,” Usha remarked.

During the event, Bhagwat acknowledged the legitimacy of the concerns raised by student protesters, rejecting any attempts to label them as 'anti-national.' He emphasized that the youth of the nation deserve to be heard, as they represent the future.

In his speech in Mumbai, Bhagwat stated, “If Gen Z is protesting, they are not anti-national. They are our own people, our future generation. We need to foster a sense of belonging and engage in dialogue. This relationship is essential and must be recognized.”

He affirmed the authenticity of the grievances expressed by the protesters, stating, “The issues raised are valid. There is much to be addressed in Indian education, and while discussions are ongoing, action is still needed.”

Bhagwat framed protests as a legitimate form of democratic expression when other avenues fail to address concerns.

“Protest is a form of dialogue. We are here to converse; if we understand each other, that’s great. If not, we will debate. If either of us faces challenges that we can resolve, and it’s not happening, then I will raise my voice,” he explained.

He contrasted the current youth with his own generation, noting a shift towards questioning authority as a new way of engaging with societal issues.

“In our youth, we accepted what our elders said without question. Today, Gen Z and Gen Alpha seek logical answers and are not afraid to ask questions,” he added.
