Prince Yadav Shines in IPL Match

In a remarkable display during the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL), Prince Yadav made headlines as he played a pivotal role in the Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium on May 8. LSG set a formidable target of 213 runs after scoring 209 in 19 overs, utilizing the D/L method. Yadav kicked off the match with a sensational wicket, sending cricket icon Virat Kohli back to the pavilion without scoring. He continued his impressive performance by breaking a significant 95-run partnership between Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar, dismissing Padikkal, and later took the wicket of Jitesh Sharma for just one run. Yadav concluded his spell with impressive figures of 3 wickets for 33 runs in four overs, leading his team to a narrow nine-run victory and ending a six-match losing streak.

Historic Dismissal of Virat Kohli

This dismissal marked a rare occasion, as it was only the 11th time in Kohli's IPL career that he was out for a duck across 269 innings over 18 years. Notably, this was just the sixth instance of such an occurrence in the second innings of a match. The last time Kohli was dismissed without scoring was 3,301 days ago on April 23, 2017, against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), where he was out for a golden duck, contributing to RCB's record low total of 49 runs.
