Prime Minister Modi Commends Suresh Kumar's Cycling Achievement
New Delhi, January 2: On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations to Bengaluru MLA Suresh Kumar for his remarkable achievement of cycling over 700 kilometers from Bengaluru to Kanniyakumari.
In a post shared on his X account, PM Modi praised Suresh Kumar's impressive effort, stating, “Shri S. Suresh Kumar Ji’s accomplishment of cycling from Bengaluru to Kanniyakumari is both commendable and inspiring. His journey, especially after overcoming health challenges, showcases his determination and resilience. This also sends a vital message about the importance of fitness. I spoke with him and congratulated him on this remarkable effort,” while referencing a news article.
Suresh Kumar, in a previous post, expressed his excitement about receiving a call from Prime Minister Modi, who congratulated him for cycling 702 kilometers to Kanniyakumari, particularly after facing a serious health issue.
“I was overjoyed to receive a call from the Honorable Prime Minister of Bharat @narendramodi, congratulating me on my 702 km cycling journey to Kanyakumari. He was pleased to learn that this was my second cycling trip to Kanyakumari after 51 years, especially after my serious ailment,” Suresh Kumar shared.
In a related note, back in November 2025, PM Modi also congratulated the Indian women's cricket team for their historic win at the ICC Women’s World Cup, expressing that the entire nation takes pride in their achievement and that their success will motivate countless young individuals across the country.
During his address at the Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025, PM Modi remarked, “While this event focuses on science, I must first mention India’s remarkable victory in cricket. The entire nation is elated with our cricket team’s success. This marks India’s first Women’s World Cup victory. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to our women’s cricket team. We are immensely proud of you. Your triumph will inspire millions of young people throughout the country.”
