Pakistan Shaheens Claim Asia Cup Rising Stars Title
Doha [Qatar], November 24: In a thrilling conclusion to the Asia Cup Rising Stars tournament, Pakistan Shaheens emerged victorious against Bangladesh A, clinching the title in a Super Over after the match ended in a tie. The standout performance came from pacer Ahmed Daniyal, whose bowling proved crucial in the final moments.
Entering the finals with momentum from a narrow five-run victory over Sri Lanka A in the semifinals, Pakistan Shaheens successfully defended a total of 154 runs. Meanwhile, Bangladesh A reached the final by defeating India A, led by Jitesh Sharma, in another Super Over after both teams finished with 194 runs.
On the night of the final, Bangladesh A won the toss and opted to field first. Pakistan struggled early, losing wickets frequently and finding themselves at 75/6 in just 14.2 overs. His partnership with Shahid Aziz (9 runs) helped push the team past the 100-run mark.
