North Delhi Strikers Secure Nail-Biting Win Against South Delhi Superstarz in DPL 2026

In a nail-biting match on September 1, the North Delhi Strikers (Women) triumphed over the South Delhi Superstarz (Women) by just two runs in the Delhi Premier League 2026. After setting a target of 127 runs, the Strikers' disciplined bowling performance proved crucial as they restricted the Superstarz to 124 runs. Captain Ayushi Soni's stellar innings of 62 runs anchored the Strikers' total, while Archana's impactful bowling helped seal the victory. Both teams are set to clash again in the final, promising another exciting encounter.
 

Thrilling Encounter in Delhi Premier League

In a gripping match held on September 1, the North Delhi Strikers (Women) clinched a narrow two-run victory over the South Delhi Superstarz (Women) during the women's segment of the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026.


Tasked with defending a total of 126 runs for 5 wickets, the Strikers showcased a commendable bowling performance, maintaining their composure in the final over to limit the Superstarz to 124 runs for 7 wickets in their 20 overs, as reported by a press release from the DPL.


After being invited to bat first, the North Delhi Strikers faced an early challenge but managed to recover, finishing their innings at 126 for 5. Opener Nazma was dismissed for just 2 runs, and Shivi Sharma followed shortly after, scoring 3 runs, leaving the team in a precarious position at 12 for 2.


Captain Ayushi Soni played a pivotal role, scoring an unbeaten 62 runs off 55 balls, which included seven boundaries, anchoring the innings effectively.


Archana contributed significantly with a quickfire 21 runs off 14 balls, while Samaira Raghav added a valuable 32 runs off 26 balls, featuring two fours and a six.


For the South Delhi Superstarz, Roopali Vishwa Mohan emerged as the standout bowler, taking 2 wickets for 23 runs.


In their pursuit of 127 runs, the Superstarz started steadily but found it difficult to form a solid partnership.


Priya Punia was the top scorer for South Delhi, making 31 runs off 30 balls, while Tanisha Singh contributed 24 runs, and captain Shweta Sehrawat scored a quick 20 runs off just 12 balls.


As the match progressed towards its climax, the chase remained finely balanced, with South Delhi needing a strong finish.


However, the bowlers from North Delhi struck at crucial moments. Archana was particularly effective, taking two wickets, while Reshika Beniwal, Apeksha Anand, and Nazma each claimed one wicket.
