North Delhi Strikers Triumph in DPL 2026 Women's Final

New Delhi, September 3: The North Delhi Strikers (Women) emerged victorious in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 Women's tournament, defeating the South Delhi Superstarz (Women) by six wickets in the final held at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday.

In pursuit of a target set at 123 runs, the Strikers successfully chased down the score, finishing at 128/4 in just 19 overs to claim the championship.

Earlier in the match, the South Delhi Superstarz managed to score 122 runs for the loss of six wickets in their 20 overs.

Captain Shweta Sehrawat was instrumental in the Superstarz's innings, contributing 31 runs from 32 balls, while wicketkeeper Nishika Singh played a key role, remaining not out with 39 runs off 30 balls, which included four fours and a six.

The Strikers' bowlers showcased a disciplined effort, effectively limiting the Superstarz's scoring opportunities. Priya Mishra, Nazma, Archana, Reshika Beniwal, and Apeksha Anand each took a wicket, maintaining consistent pressure throughout the innings.

Apeksha Anand stood out with her economical bowling, allowing only 13 runs in her four-over spell.

During their chase, North Delhi Strikers started strong with Upasana Yadav hitting two boundaries in her quick nine runs off eight balls. However, the Superstarz struck back, taking two early wickets and leaving the Strikers at 15/2.

Captain Ayushi Soni and Archana then formed a crucial partnership to stabilize the innings. Ayushi scored 43 runs off 39 balls, while Archana contributed significantly with 40 runs off 36 balls, including four fours and a six.

As the match progressed, North Delhi needed 20 runs from the last four overs, keeping the tension high.

Nevertheless, Nazma kept her composure, scoring an unbeaten 24 runs off 19 balls with four boundaries. Samaira Raghav added the finishing touches with a quick seven runs off six balls, including a six.

Ultimately, the North Delhi Strikers crossed the finish line in the second last over, securing a memorable six-wicket victory and earning the title of DPL 2026 Women's champions.
