A Rising Star in Kabaddi

At just 17 years old, Nikita from Hasangarh village in Hisar has become a national sensation, bringing pride to her family after playing a pivotal role in India's gold medal victory in kabaddi at the Asian Games.

During the final match, Nikita showcased her skills, scoring five points as a raider, while her hometown celebrated her achievement with fireworks.

Her coach, Sandeep Singh, praised her versatility, noting that she excelled both as a defender and a raider. Nikita earned her spot on the national team through outstanding performances in domestic tournaments, including a significant contribution to Haryana's triumph in the 72nd Women’s Senior National Championship, where she scored 17 points.

Nikita is the fourth child in a family of seven, with her father Anil Nain working as a farmer and her mother Vinod Kumari managing the household. Among her siblings, her elder sisters Manisha, Monica, and Seema are married, while her brother Deepanshu is in Class VII.

Both of Nikita's sisters, Sakshi and Antim, also play kabaddi under the guidance of Coach Sandeep. Sakshi is currently in Class XII, while Nikita and Seema are in Class XI, and Antim is in Class X. Their mother shared that Sakshi returned home from a training camp in Bhiwani Rohilla village to celebrate with the family.

Coach Sandeep revealed that Nikita began her kabaddi journey at the age of eight, and he has been training her and her sisters for nearly nine years. Currently, Nikita trains in Gurugram under Coach Sunil.
