Chaudhary Sets His Sights on International Cricket

Sydney, Australia - On September 3, Australian all-rounder Nikhil Chaudhary expressed his ambition to secure a spot in Australia's national teams across all formats. As the nation gears up to defend its ICC Men's Cricket World Cup title and prepare for the upcoming Men's T20 World Cup, Chaudhary is determined to make his mark.

In an interview with Cricinfo, Chaudhary revealed his aspirations to participate in One Day Internationals (ODIs) and Test matches for Australia. He highlighted the 2027 ODI World Cup and the subsequent T20 World Cup as his primary goals, emphasizing his desire to represent his country for as long as possible.

"I aim to play 50-over cricket and, if given the chance, Tests as well. My immediate focus is on the 2027 ODI World Cup, followed by the T20 World Cup the next year. I want to wear the Australian jersey for as long as I can," he stated.

Chaudhary made his T20 International debut during Australia's tour of Bangladesh in June. Although he has yet to play in an ODI, the 30-year-old credits his ascent in Australian cricket to his diligent work ethic.

"My strategy has always been straightforward: work hard, give your best, and strive to help your team succeed. Whenever an opportunity arises, I aim to perform," he remarked.

Later this month, Chaudhary will join Australia A for a tour to India, where they will compete in two unofficial Tests and three ODIs against India A. The all-rounder from Delhi also shared his thoughts on the privilege of representing Australia on the international stage.

"Many players never get the chance to represent their country and end their careers playing domestic cricket. Some even move abroad for club cricket. For those who love the game, the desire to play remains, regardless of the team," he concluded.
