Nepal Prepares for T20 World Cup with Training Camp
New Delhi, December 22: Nepal has revealed a squad of 24 players who will participate in a training camp in preparation for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026, according to information from the ICC.
This training camp aims to finalize the team, as selectors will need to narrow down the roster to 15 players ahead of the tournament, which is set to kick off in India and Sri Lanka on February 7.
India, one of the co-hosts, has already disclosed its squad of 15 players, becoming the first team to do so.
Nepal has retained the 16 players who excelled in their recent T20I series victory over the West Indies, where they won 2-1 in September and October. Additionally, they have included eight more players, such as Sher Malla, Binod Bhandari, Abinash Bohara, and Bashir Ahmed, who showcased their talent in the recent Nepal Premier League.
The team secured its spot in the 2026 T20 World Cup by remaining unbeaten at the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Asia-Pacific Regional Final held in Oman in October. This will mark their second consecutive appearance and third overall in the tournament.
Nepal is placed in Group C for the T20 World Cup, where they will face off against England, West Indies, Bangladesh, and Italy.
Nepal training camp squad includes: Rohit Paudel, Dipendra Singh Airee, Sandeep Lamichhane, Kushal Bhurtel, Aasif Sheikh, Kushal Malla, Sundeep Jora, Gulshan Jha, Sompal Kami, Nandan Yadav, Lalit Rajbanshi, Lokesh Bam, Aarif Sheikh, Aadil Ansari, Karan KC, Sahab Alam, Sher Malla, Bhim Sharki, Ishan Pandey, Basir Ahamad, Binod Bhandari, Abinash Bohora, Pratish GC, and Rupesh K Singh.
