Neeraj Chopra Reflects on a Milestone Year with Family and Achievements
A Year of Triumphs and Challenges for Neeraj Chopra
New Delhi, December 31: Neeraj Chopra, India's Olympic gold medalist and former world champion in javelin throw, shared a heartfelt photo with his family, including his wife Himani Mor Chopra, as he wrapped up a significant year in 2025. This year was marked by remarkable achievements, personal milestones, and some disappointments.
Neeraj and Himani celebrated their marriage in January 2025. Following their wedding, Neeraj experienced a season filled with unprecedented accomplishments, alongside a tough defeat on the world stage, which he aims to overcome in 2026.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi was among the attendees at their wedding reception, showcasing the couple's prominence.
In a post on X, Neeraj expressed, "Ending 2025 with beautiful memories. A beautiful time with family, friends, and endless blessings. Thank you for being part of our celebration and showering us with love."

This year, Neeraj's impressive streak of podium finishes since his gold at the Tokyo Olympics came to an unexpected halt with an 8th-place finish during his title defense at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo in September.
Despite this setback, Neeraj had a successful 2025 season. He clinched victory at the inaugural Neeraj Chopra Classic, a competition named in his honor, held at the Sri Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium in Bengaluru in July, with a throw of 86.18m.
The season kicked off with a win at the Potch Invitational in Potchefstroom, South Africa, in April, followed by a remarkable second-place finish at the Doha Diamond League in May, where he achieved a personal best throw of 90.23m.
Later that month, he secured second place at the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial in Poland and continued his winning streak with back-to-back titles at the Paris Diamond League and Ostrava Golden Spike, with throws of 88.16m and 85.29m, respectively. In late August, Neeraj maintained his momentum, finishing second with a throw of 85.01m during the Diamond League final in Zurich.
