Nagpur (Maharashtra) [India], June 8: In a nail-biting contest at the VCA Civil Lines Ground, the NECO Master Blaster women's team made a remarkable comeback to secure a seven-run victory against the Pagariya Strikers during the Vidarbha Women’s Premier League (VPL) 2026 on Sunday.


NECO Master Blaster set a challenging target, scoring 133 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Shraddha Nabira was instrumental in this effort, contributing a quickfire 31 runs off 23 deliveries, which included three boundaries and a six.


Other notable contributions came from Snehal Maniyar (18), Diya Bhagwat (18), Nupur Kohale (17 not out), and Arya Gohane (16), ensuring the team reached a competitive total, as highlighted in the press release.


In response, the Pagariya Strikers seemed on course for victory for a significant portion of their innings. Sanskruti Sant played a pivotal role, scoring 48 runs off 36 balls, while Ankita Bhongade (18) and Srishty Wandalkar (16) added valuable runs.


With wickets in hand and the required run rate manageable, the Strikers appeared poised to clinch the match.


However, the game took a dramatic turn in the 18th over when NECO Master Blaster executed a stunning comeback, taking two vital wickets in quick succession, including a bowled dismissal and a run-out at the non-striker's end. This sudden shift in momentum proved crucial.
